What Would You Do with this Space?

As part of the Incubating Civic Leadership research project, we have been working closely with one of our local project partners, London Borough of Redbridge and the Muslimah Sports Association to kickstart an initiative to put young people in charge of shaping public space in Redbridge.

This is a real opportunity for the community to take ownership of the built enviroment that shapes their everyday. Although not a council-led initiative, LB Redbridge will make one or more council-owned underused spaces or sites available to local young people to reuse temporarily, as ‘meanwhile’ spaces.

We’ll be using an online creative gathering to imagine and co-design a What Would You Do with this Space? competition for young people by young people to transform an underused space in Redbridge through a series of temporary installations and activities.

The What Would You Do with this Space? competition and winning project(s) will be led and managed by young people with a budget and a support team of mentors to help you make this happen.

How to take part

This creative gathering is open to people who live, work and study in the London Borough of Redbridge. You can join this session as
